Wild hamsters live in dry regions of Europe and Asia, and the golden or Syrian hamster, the most common pet, comes from Syria. Hamsters are mostly active at night and can run several miles on a wheel. This set is all about hamster snacks. A hamster holds an apple slice, broccoli, a carrot, a cookie, corn, a flower and a pea pod, which are fun to compare with real hamster-safe foods. A cute hamster and a cute baby hamster suit toddlers. Syrian hamsters are often golden brown with a cream belly, while dwarf hamsters can be gray, white or have a dark stripe along the back. Pink noses, tiny paws and round ears are sweet details. Kids can color veggies in bright greens and oranges. These pages are great for pet lovers and classroom pet days.
