16 Easter Egg Templates

An egg template is a blank canvas, and this set offers both empty outlines and ready-made patterns. The plain outline and simple egg are perfect for kids who want to design every stripe themselves. The patterned templates add ideas to color: blossoms and waves, bows and stars, butterflies and leaves, carrots and a rainbow, chevrons with flowers, folk-style tulips, a mushroom garden, stars and swirls, strawberries and lemons, and sunflowers with dots. Folk tulips echo decorative traditions from places like Pennsylvania Dutch and Central European egg painting. These templates are easy to cut out, so they work well for spring crafts. String several on yarn for a garland, glue them onto craft sticks for puppets, or hide paper eggs around the house for an indoor hunt on a rainy day. In a classroom, each child can decorate one egg and the class can build a giant basket display on a bulletin board. Toddlers can scribble color across the blank outline, while older kids can follow the detailed folk and garden patterns.
