24 Turkey Templates

Wild turkeys are native to North America and are surprisingly agile. They can run around 25 miles per hour and fly short distances to roost in trees at night. Males, called toms, fan out their tail feathers to show off, and that big feather fan is what makes turkey templates so fun to color. This set includes turkeys holding a leaf, wearing an acorn hat, a knit beanie or a knit scarf, standing next to a stack of pumpkins and showing a tall tail fan from the side. One template patterns every feather, a mother turkey stands with her chick, and there is a front-facing turkey along with outline, simple, easy chunky, fun and cute versions. A classic classroom craft is to trace each child's hand for feathers, color the fingers in fall colors and glue them behind a turkey body. Kids can also write something they are thankful for on each feather. Real turkey feathers are bronze, brown and copper with white and black bands, but bright rainbow feathers are welcome too.
