15 Mosaic Coloring Pages

Mosaics are pictures made from many small pieces of stone, glass or tile called tesserae. Ancient Romans covered floors and walls with mosaics showing animals, gods and everyday life, and some survive today at Pompeii. Byzantine artists used shimmering gold glass in church domes, and Antoni Gaudí decorated Park Güell in Barcelona with colorful broken tile mosaics. This set lets kids create mosaic art with markers or crayons. Animals are made of small shapes, including a mosaic bear, bunny, cat and butterfly, plus a general mosaic animal. A flower, a flower egg and an arched window show patterned designs, and an easy mosaic design has larger pieces for younger kids. The fun of mosaics is choosing a color for each little piece. Kids can use one color family for a calm look, alternate light and dark for contrast or fill the background with one color so the main picture stands out. These pages are great for building focus and patience.
