16 Jellyfish Coloring Pages

Jellyfish have been drifting through the oceans for more than 500 million years, long before dinosaurs or fish. They have no brain, heart or bones, and their bodies are about 95 percent water. A jellyfish swims by squeezing its bell-shaped top, and its tentacles hold stinging cells to catch tiny prey. Some jellyfish even glow in the dark. This set captures their floating grace. A jellyfish shows off its bell and tentacles, another trails long tentacles down the page, one drifts through a water column, and others nestle into coral or perch on a coral tower. One floats beside a starfish, and there is a baby jellyfish and two cute jellyfish for little kids. Jellyfish can be clear, pink, purple, blue or orange, so pastel and translucent shades work well. Kids can blend colors from the top of the bell to the tentacle tips. Deep blue water and colorful coral finish each scene. These pages fit ocean units and are calming to color.
Round bells, frilly edges and drifting strands
Three pages are easy, each one big jellyfish with a friendly face. The little jelly with thick tentacles is the simplest for preschoolers, while Cute Jellyfish Character and Cute Jellyfish add thin, crossing tentacles that take more care. Jellyfish Underwater is the medium page, with a striped bell, bubbles in several sizes and a small coral plant to fill in around the jelly.
Glowing pinks, purples and ocean blues
Soft pink, lavender, turquoise and peach make jellyfish look like they glow, and mixing two colors in the tentacles adds a dreamy effect. Blue water around the bubbles and pink coral finish the underwater scene. Children can color on dark paper with bright crayons for a deep sea glow, or cut out finished jellies and hang them with string for an ocean mobile.
