16 Kangaroo Coloring Pages

Kangaroos live only in Australia, and they are the largest marsupials in the world. A baby kangaroo, called a joey, is born tiny, about the size of a jellybean, and crawls into its mother's pouch to keep growing for months. Kangaroos cannot walk backward easily, and they use their strong tails for balance and even as a fifth leg when moving slowly. They can hop more than 25 feet in a single bound. This collection shows kangaroos and joeys together and alone. A kangaroo carries a joey on its shoulders, stands facing front with ears up, climbs a rock stack, flies a kite, stands by a birdhouse pole and looks up at the stars. A baby joey and two cute kangaroos suit the youngest kids. Red kangaroos are reddish brown and gray kangaroos are soft gray brown, both with lighter bellies. Kids can draw a peeking joey in the pouch. Red outback dirt and blue sky make a classic Australian scene.
Joeys and Pouches
The seated joey has a round muzzle patch, a tuft of hair between tall ears and tiny paws tucked on its chest, which makes it the simplest start. Kangaroo with Joey shows a mother leaning into a hop while her youngster peeks out of the pouch with its own big ears. Kids can color the little one a lighter brown so it stands apart from its mom.
Standing Tall
Cute Kangaroo Character faces forward on big hind feet, with the curve of its pouch drawn across the belly and a long tail sweeping to the right. Cute Kangaroo stands in side view with a tail stretched nearly edge to edge across the page. Both work well for practicing long curved outlines, and a dusty orange background makes a quick outback sunset.
