Killer whales, also called orcas, are actually the largest members of the dolphin family. They live in every ocean, from the Arctic to Antarctica, and travel in close family groups called pods, often led by older females. Each pod has its own calls, almost like a family language. Orcas have bold black and white markings, including a white patch behind each eye. This collection keeps orcas playful. An orca dives through bubbles, wears a captain cap and backpack, sports a crown with a seashell, wears a flower crown, holds a balloon and celebrates in a party hat with a starfish. A baby orca and two cute orca pages are perfect for preschoolers. Classic coloring is black on the back and fins with white on the belly and eye patch, plus a light gray saddle patch behind the dorsal fin. Crowns, flowers and balloons are spots for bright color. Blue ocean water finishes the scene. These pages fit ocean and marine mammal lessons.
