16 Earth Coloring Pages

Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the only one known to support life. About 71 percent of its surface is covered by water, which is why it looks blue from space. It spins on a tilted axis, which gives us seasons, and inside it has layers: a thin crust, a thick mantle, a liquid outer core and a solid inner core. This collection explores our home planet. One shows Earth from space, another displays a cutaway of its layers, and an axis model shows its tilt. Globe pages include a globe on a stand and one on a meridian stand, plus an oval view with its atmosphere and a pair of offset Earths. Two cute Earth character pages are great for preschoolers. Blue for oceans, green and brown for land and white for clouds and ice caps make a realistic planet. These pages are ideal for Earth Day on April 22 and for science lessons on geography and the layers of the Earth.
From mascot to map
Cute Earth Character is the easiest, with big oceans and a face for ages 3 to 6. Cute Earth shows simplified continents for ages 4 to 7. Earth from Space adds stars and a moon for ages 5 to 8. Earth with Continents has accurate coastlines and tiny islands, which suits young map readers around 7 to 10 using fine tip markers.
Earth Day activity
Color Cute Earth Character and have kids write one way they will help the planet on each arm, such as recycling, saving water or planting a tree. Use Cute Earth or Earth with Continents to label all seven continents and the major oceans. On Earth from Space, talk about how astronauts see the whole planet at once and why it looks mostly blue.
