13 Forest Coloring Pages

Forests cover about one third of Earth's land and are home to more than half of all land plants and animals. A forest has layers: the canopy of treetops, the understory of smaller trees and shrubs and the forest floor with moss, ferns, mushrooms and fallen leaves. Each layer has its own animals, from birds and squirrels up high to deer, foxes and insects below. This set explores the forest. A chickadee perches on a fir branch, a fawn rests under a tree, an owl sits on a mushroom stump and a hollow tree stump becomes a little house. A forest path winds through trees, a trail signpost points the way and a scene shows forest animals together. A cute forest and a forest character suit toddlers. Many greens, from light lime to deep pine, make forests feel full. Brown trunks, red mushrooms and dappled sunlight add life. These pages pair well with nature walks and habitat lessons.
