Igloos are snow houses built by Inuit people in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland, traditionally used as winter shelters while traveling and hunting. Blocks of packed snow are cut and stacked in a spiral that leans inward to form a dome. Snow is a good insulator, so the inside of an igloo can be much warmer than the air outside. A low entrance tunnel helps keep cold air out. This set decorates the classic dome. There is a beehive-shaped igloo with snow blocks and a flag, one with icicles and a pennant, a front tunnel with a snowflake topper, an igloo with a diamond zigzag band, one with a heart window and crossed flags, another under the moon and stars, and one with a scarf, mittens and cocoa. Two cute igloo pages suit toddlers. Snow blocks can be white with pale blue lines, and the night sky can be deep navy. These pages pair with winter science lessons about insulation and Arctic life.
