There are more than 7,000 kinds of lizards, from tiny geckos smaller than a coin to Komodo dragons longer than an adult person. Most have dry, scaly skin, four legs and a long tail, and many can drop part of the tail to escape a predator and later grow it back. This collection shows lizards in lots of poses. A crested lizard walks along, a crested spotted lizard shows off its pattern, one lizard jumps and another curls its tail. Lizards sit in the grass, stand by a tree, look up at the sky, hold a flower or a pebble and nibble a cookie. There are close-ups of a lizard's face and head, a happy lizard, a baby lizard and two cartoon lizards for little kids. Lizards come in an amazing range of colors, including bright green anoles, blue-tailed skinks and spotted leopard geckos, so kids can color freely. Small scale patterns are a fun challenge with fine markers. Cartoon lizards are best for preschoolers, and the close-ups suit older kids.

Many can. Some lizards drop their tail when grabbed and grow a new one, though the regrown tail is usually shorter and supported by cartilage instead of bone.
